Forging reform

The 21st century is a special time in human history. A set of challenges are present or emerging that will transform and disrupt global civilization and national societies.

Policy Foundry is a policy development and advisory unit focused on these global challenges. We develop high-quality and detailed policy proposals that would position Australia for the 21st century and work with advocacy organisations to shape Australian policy.

Our vision is Australia leading by example, with an Australian Government that has prioritised these challenges and leads the world in addressing them. We bridge the gap between academic knowledge and pragmatic, actionable policy.

Expression of interest: Policy Foundry Co-founder and Executive Director

Policy Foundry is an Australia-based organisation focused on shaping policy on the greatest challenges of the 21st century. We are seeking a co-founder to expand the work of Policy Foundry after its proof-of-concept stage, which is ending in December 2022. It is a unique opportunity to lead a successful and important organisation at its early stages. This role is likely to appeal to mid-career professionals with strong experience in either leadership or policy, and looking to take on a daring new challenge that could fundamentally shape Australian, and ultimately global, policy.

  • The role: Leading and expanding the work of Policy Foundry
  • Location: Remote, preferably Australia
  • Timeframe: Flexible, ideally starting early 2023
  • Salary: For discussion with candidates; we expect to seek funding for an annual salary in the range of AU$120-180k.
  • Deadline: Applications will be accepted until the right person is found.

Note: We are currently seeking funding for Policy Foundry to continue beyond its proof-of-concept stage. The role is contingent on this funding. The prospective candidate would ideally be involved in the funding proposal development and application process.

  • Great power relations, strategic competition and global governance
  • Nuclear weapons
